Struttin' in my rose-colored platforms!

After a week of anticipation and frequent visits to FedEx.com/tracking, L.A.M.B. crepe peeptoe booties arrived at my house last night! I was so thrilled, I had to coordinate a pink outfit to wear with them to work today...Aren't they a dreamy, creamy shade of pink? They made even my size 9.5 monster feet seem dainty!They looked great with a skirt and bare calves, but they'd also be a perfect complement to some dark skinny jeans:

These pink platform stilettos were the center of attention at the office today - I have NEVER before received SO many compliments on a pair of shoes in one day! Ladies came up to me to check them out after hearing about them from somebody else - these are definitely show-stoppers. I even received a compliment from some random middle-aged man when I was picking up take-out for dinner. I don't think he was gay, and he didn't seem to be trying the cliche "Nice shoes" pickup line, so it seems these incredibly gorgeous kicks have truly universal appeal. I had no idea when I ordered these that the world would share in my lust for these shoes! 
On top of looking damn sexy, these shoes also happen to be surprisingly comfortable for how tall they are. I highly recommend you grab a pair - they are just pink enough to satisfy the girly girl in you, but also neutral enough to wear with just about anything. AND they are designed by none other than the glamorous Gwen Stefani, to boot-ie!

To pink lovers like me, the Victoria's Secret PINK store is the hub of all things girly, snuggly and pink. We girly girls tend to like things that possess all three of these qualities, and there's always some super-soft hoodie, heart-adorned boy shorts, or sparkly sweatpants there to tempt us.

For what they are, though, these frivolous little items, as adorable and cozy as they may be, seem a bit overpriced to me. That's why I try to shop there only if I have coupon to stretch my dollars!

Pink pucker for pennies!

Here's a pink pick-me-up that won't max out your credit cards - I just picked up the juiciest, sparkliest lip gloss and matching nail polish by Sally Hansen on super-duper 75%-off clearance at CVS. Both items with tax cost me only about $4!!

And they are actually amazing products:

Insta-Dri nail color in "Blush Rush" - a shimmering peachy pink polish that needs only one coat and dries in 30 seconds. It's true! I applied the polish frantically as I scrambled to get ready for work like always (soo not a morning person), ran out the door without thinking about it, and surprisingly I have no smudges!

Diamond 12 Hr. Lip Treatment in "Solitaire" an even sparklier pink (perhaps inspired by Madonna's pink gown in the "Material Girl" video?) that matches perfectly with the nail color. This lip gloss is incredibly moisturizing, super shiny and shimmery. It seems to provide a bit of a plumping illusion as well (see my pout below). Plus, it smells like jelly beans!

Failed Bootie Call... What a tease!!

OMG... this email just arrived in my inbox, tempting me with these SMOKIN' HOT rose colored stiletto booties from L.A.M.B. (my absolute favorite designer... love you, Gwen!), pictured on the far right below:

Naturally, I immediately clicked to get more information and drool over these very-on-sale-yet-still-unattainable-if-i-am-thinking-clearly (which I'm not) knockouts and, to my horror, they are NOWHERE to be found on the Neiman Marcus Last Call web site! What gives?! 

I then desperately Googled "L.A.M.B. peeptoe booties" and all I can find in the Shopping results are regular price offerings at $365! The Neiman's ad is showing them at $259. Is this some type of bait-and-switch conspiracy between Neiman's and Zappos? I feel cheated, but at the same time this probably saved me from actually buying them! 

These would have been the perfect sexy shoes to wear on Valentine's Day... sigh... (hint hint)

Dreamy Coach bag!

I practically (ok maybe actually) squealed with delight when I spotted this gem of a Coach bag at Macy's today! It is the epitome of this blog - pink AND it glimmers in the most deliciously sparkly way! It's a pastel pink, so it's just flashy enough to turn heads but not too much so that you can't pair it with jeans or just about anything. This Poppy Leather Rocker just might be my next handbag acquisition -I'm in love!! Too bad it's $298... Ouch :/

A pink proclamation

Welcome to my PINK blog, a space where the girliest of girls can relish in a plethora of pink splendor.

A self-proclaimed pinkaholic and shamelessly girly girl, pink is a part of my essence. Pink makes me happy! Ordinary, everyday things seem more exciting and fun to me when they come in pink - be it my cell phone case, the ink in the pens I use to jot down reminders, the picture frames and knickknacks adorning my cubicle, the Hello Kitty floor mats in my car, or even the tissues I keep at my desk! These little things brighten my day and make my world a little sweeter.

This penchant for pink manifested in my personality at an early age - as a little girl I often would ask for strawberry ice cream when my parents took me out for a treat, even though I really didn't like the taste of it - but it just looked so appealing in its creamy pink hue that it enticed me every time! Though I've managed to wise up to strawberry ice cream's wiles, as an adult I find myself drawn to rosy-colored cocktails at happy hour, and I still get giddy whenever I see vendors carrying fluffy clouds of cotton candy through the aisles at sporting events.

The color pink pervades my style to this day. Looking back at my wardrobe over the years, many a party dress and a good portion of the shirts, undies, and pajamas in my closet were shades of pink. I even have a pair of neon pink Von Dutch corduroy pants that I should have donated to charity after the 5 minutes of trucker hat coolness expired, but I refuse to throw them away because they are so deliciously pink! (And they just so happen to hug my curves quite nicely, and with a belt covering the logo who will know that they're out of style?)

I started this blog because I've been wanting to try out blogging as a hobby and I wanted it to be something fun for me - I can't think of anything more lighthearted and fun than celebrating the color PINK in proper girly fashion! I'll be sharing posts about all my favorite pink things and pink sightings in the areas of fashion, beauty, food, entertainment, and anywhere else pink pops up!
